In the first few months, real "system archaeology" awaits you: You will dive deep into our historically grown, Linux-based on-prem infrastructure, fully comprehend existing Ubuntu server structures – even where documentation has been sparse so far – and ensure reliable stability.
But you won't just be cleaning up. Your goal is to build the foundation for the future: With strategic foresight, you act pragmatically in day-to-day operations while always keeping standardization and the long-term architecture in mind. Following the DRY principle (Don't Repeat Yourself), you ensure that recurring problems are solved once and automated permanently.
- Infrastructure Ownership: You take technical responsibility for the reliability and operational readiness of our Linux infrastructure (focusing on Ubuntu). At our core is a Proxmox cluster where the central development and testing environments of our product teams run.
- Sustainable Standardization: You transition grown structures into clearly documented, traceable processes. Your goal is Continuous Compliance, where guidelines and quality standards are seamlessly lived in day-to-day operations – without the need for regular "spring cleaning" campaigns.
- Collaboration & Technical Writing: You possess strong communication skills. You know how to explain complex technical topics clearly to various stakeholders. You write excellent documentation and lead by example in living clean processes daily to convince the team without hierarchical authority.
- Integrative Working: You bring a high level of cooperation and manage to involve less experienced team members productively and with motivation in new infrastructure projects.
- Confident Balance: Boundaries in our team are fluid. You safely navigate between strategic data center infrastructure projects and daily operations (including occasional 3rd-level support for our client IT colleagues).
